The city of Avilés is located in the north of Spain in the region of Asturias. Even though it is not the capital city of the region, neither the biggest one, it has quite diverse characteristics that make Avilés one of the most singular cities in the region. The old town was built in a combination of palaces, gardens and churches conferring the city a unique atmosphere. And with the cosmopolite and metropolitan city centre it creates an exceptional contrast.
